1) VT outrebounded md 32-28. They dominated the glass in the 1st half, but struggled a bit in the 2nd. This was a major focus for VT in their gameplan.
2) Coleman Collins 11 points and 14 boards and 3 blocks.
3) VT only had 1 point in the final 6:24 of regulation (take a knee offense never works – how many leads do we have to almost blow to realize this?)
4) Brick City: VT won despite only shooting 40%; md shot just 36%.
5) Cheick Diakite!!! 4/5 from the floor for 9 points, 3 boards, and 4 blocks!

Attended every home basketball game during his 4 years at VT after missing the first home game. Has attended 116 straight VT football home games (every game since '94), eclipsing the 100 mark in September of '09.
During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver.
Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo.
Niemo currently lives in DC and speaks the Hokie gospel as often as possible.
