With no sports going on at the moment and still more than seven weeks remaining until football kicks off, ACC Nation refers to this time of year as the “silly season.â€
Therefore, the Tuesday Twelve this week deals with jokes. More specifically, 12 jokes I’ve heard about rival schools in the ACC (I’ve offended all 12 schools, so hopefully no one gets too upset about us picking on their school).
If you have others (and there have to be better ones out there than this list), post the joke as a comment.
12. Q: How do you get a Georgia Tech graduate off your porch?
A: Pay for the pizza.
11. The owner of a restaurant in Winston-Salem was confused about paying an invoice, so he decided to ask his secretary for some mathematical help. He called her into his office and said, “You graduated from Wake Forest and I need some help. If I were to give you $20,000, minus 14%, how much would you take off?â€
The secretary thought for a moment, then replied, “Everything but my earrings.â€

ACCNation.com has a new collaborative partner – and a connection to the ever-growing Hokie Nation.
“This collaboration with TechHoops.com is a big move for us,” said Chris Graham, the director of publications at ACCNation.com, which was launched as a companion website to the weekly “ACC Nation” radio show that can be heard over the air in four markets in Virginia and on the web at ACCNation.com.
ACCNation.com and TechHoops.com will share published content – and members of the TechHoops.com team will appear regularly on the “ACC Nation” radio show to provide news updates and commentary on goings-on in the Virginia Tech basketball world.
TechHoops.com co-founder Todd Wickersty appeared on “ACC Nation” last week – to talk about recent alums Zabian Dowdell, Jamon Gordon and Coleman Collins and to provide an early look at the 2007-2008 season.
“A lot of people focused on the impact that Virginia Tech would have on football when the school made its move into the ACC, but if last year is any indication, Tech basketball is going to be a force to be reckoned with on Tobacco Road Extended for some time to come,” Graham said.

Our friends at ACC Nation invited me to join them this week on their weekly radio show.
Aside from a short stint at reading the news on WNRN in Charlottesville, my last radio appearance was in Chattanooga when I happened to reveal that my second favorite football team was the florida gators. As you can imagine, that did not go over too well with the hosts and callers in the heart of volunteer country. Hopefully, I didn’t do as poorly this time around on the dial. You can be the judge.

According to an article in today’s edition of the Newport News Daily Press, Coach Greenberg confirmed that Nigel Munson is considering transferring to a school closer to his home in Washington D.C. Munson’s possible departure has been the hot topic of the rumor mill over the past month, especially at a well known VT message board. It appears that the potential transfer is related to personal issues, but this is unconfirmed.
In addition, Coach Greenberg revealed that Robert Krabbendam is reconsidering his decision to leave the squad.

Zabian Dowdell and Jamon Gordon have been invited to play summer league ball for the Seattle Supersonics and the Dallas Mavericks, respectively, according to their agents. Dowdell’s agent also said that the Supersonics were going to take Dowdell with their 35th pick, but had to draft Glen “Big Baby” Davis as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Ray Allen to the Celtics.
The Mavericks were the only team that asked Gordon to try out twice. Gordon’s agent did also mention that he had invitations from other teams as well.
No word on Coleman Collins yet, but we hope to find something out soon.
