Readers: TechSideline does some promotions with Hokieshare. Feel free to check them out for more information at techsideline.com. Or go to the university's official site at www.hokietickets.com/share. Meanwhile, we will look into promoting this.

Here's a draft post that Tech hoops could use to promote Hokie Share:

"Season Ticket Holders!
Can't make it to every Hokie home game?
Then share your tickets with someone who can, like students, who can't get tickets."

Exclusively for Virginia Tech season ticket holders, Hokie Share (http://www.hokietickets.com/hokieshare) allows you to electronically send your ticket to another Hokie fan of your choice. Each of your season tickets carries a unique barcode. During the transfer process, the original barcode on the ticket will be cancelled, and a new one is issued electronically.

The recipient will receive an e-mail notifying them of the transfer and will instantly receive your tickets with a new barcode that can be printed using any standard printer for print-at-home delivery. It's that easy! Your season tickets will never have be wasted again!"

Or something like that.

I'm hoping you understand what I'm saying... just something that Tech Hoops could do to promote the use of Hokie Share because people (HokieBalla comes to mind) complain about an empty house. You know what I mean? A little promotion goes a long way. Okay. I'm done.

No one knows about Hokie Share (http://www.hokietickets.com/hokieshare). The Virginia Tech Athletic Ticket office started an electronic transfer system for basketball tickets this year (and basically informed no one about it).. season ticketholders can log into Hokietickets.com and transfer their tickets electronically to another user (just by sending the tickets to their e-mail address)... that user has to accept and then pay the four dollar transfer fee or the season ticketholder can pay the fee.

As a season ticketholder, I've already transfered a pair of tickets to weekday games that I cannot go to (Mount Saint Mary's and Longwood). But this kind of thing needs publicity... from a trusted source, like you guys at Tech Hoops. I transfered my tickets to students in Blacksburg because not all students can get tickets, as well. Perhaps you could put this in your future game previews...

After all, we want a full Cassell, right? If we want a full house, we have to promote it.

Keep the good work at Tech Hoops.

Happy Holidays,

Matthew
