Erick Green, a 2009 signee guard for Virginia Tech, and his new Paul VI teammates nearly overcame a huge early deficit, but ultimately fell to the Stags 62-53. Erick had a game high 19 points, including a three-pointer and 6/7 from the line.Â
This game pitted Green against the #7 prospect from the Class of 2010 (according to Rivals.com), Josh Selby. Selby is a point guard who has committed to tennessee. In the contest, Selby led Dematha with 18 points. Naji Hibbert, the #88 prospect in the Class of 2009 who has signed with texas a&m, had just 6 points in the game.
The Panthers trailed 21-9 after the first quarter, but closed the gap to 37-32 after three periods. However, they could not overcome the overall talent of the Stags. But this game continues to give Green valuable experience against some of the nation’s elite.
