Petersburg High School led by VT 2009 signee Cadarian Raines captured the Virginia AAA Central Region title with a 68-58 win over John Marshall High School.Â
Raines was a man-child in the contest, scoring 20 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and blocking seven shots. Come on down, Cadarian!
Marshall was led by Travis McKie, a VT target and Top 100 recruit in the Class of 2010. McKie scored 17 in the game.
Petersburg will play Hayfield in the state quarterfinals Friday night at the Siegel Center at 8:45 PM.

Attended every home basketball game during his 4 years at VT after missing the first home game. Has attended 116 straight VT football home games (every game since '94), eclipsing the 100 mark in September of '09.
During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver.
Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo.
Niemo currently lives in DC and speaks the Hokie gospel as often as possible. He watches over 50% of all ACC games, making him one of the most knowledgeable experts on ACC basketball.
