ESPN.com is reporting that dave leitao is “resigning” as uva’s basketball coach after their 10-18 season and four years in hell.  While many Hokies are disappointed in not making the Big Dance this season, it could be worse — we could be wahoos. 

How bad is uva basketball right now?  This past weekend marked the 14th straight year uva has failed to reach the semi-finals of the ACC Tournament.  Keep in mind most of those seasons they only had to win one game to reach the semis, especially back when the league was only nine teams.  They are 0-10 in quarterfinal action and 3-4 in first round games since 1995.  Even two years ago when uva was the #2 seed in the ACC Tournament and tied for the regular season champs, they lost in the quarterfinals to nc state. 

Virginia Tech, on the other hand, had made the semi-finals the last two seasons until this year’s tournament when they came up just short in the quarters against #1 unc.
