Cadarian Raines Breaks Foot; Will Miss First Eight Weeks

According to Virginia Tech men’s head basketball coach Seth Greenberg’s Twitter feed, 6’9″ freshman forward Cadarian Raines will miss the first eight weeks of the season after breaking his foot today. I’m not sure how much the Hokies were planning to rely on Raines and his size this season, but at the very least, he’s out eight weeks of valuable practice and conditioning.

  1. Chuck says:

    That is a mother-scrubbing shame.

Freshman don’t RS in hoops unless they are projects, and this guy sounded like a contributor who could add a few fouls and support the front line a few minutes a night, if not more. He was special this Spring at the States…

Plus…big men and their feet…not a good recurring problem to have.
