John - Yeah, our SOS will be the pits. Luckily seton hall is stepping up. But iowa is 3-6 and georgia lost again last night. 12-2 plus 8-8 in the ACC and we are on the bubble.

Hip Hop - Made me laugh with the big/lil/medium donut comment...
- I don't feel Allen wastes games as much as we don't get him the ball. As a big man, you are dependent on the guards to feed you the rock. He should get a touch either in the low post or high post every other half court possession. Yet we'll go 8-10 minutes without getting him the ball. He could assert himself more at times but part of it is sharing the rock.
- Malcolm hasn't been shooting well all year, other than the georgia game, so I'm not sure how much the thumb had to do with it, though it certainly didn't help.

Hopefully we can go to our bench early in some of these upcoming games. I think it will be a good time for Green to assert himself as a capable leader of the offense. I started looking at these teams, and oh my are they bad. Our SOS is going to look real ugly here once Selection Sunday comes around. UMBC - ouch!

I enjoy the lectures the refs give Greenberg over Delaney. Especially when Greenberg put some zip on a ball that he rolled the refs way after he was frustrated with the previous play on the court.

Man I am REAL proud of this one. For Hudson and Allen to both come up so big is HUGE for us. I honestly didn't think that Dorenzo would ever have a 20 point game in him, but finally last night he played within himself and took shots that he could actually make (for the most part - 0-4 from three still says something). Then you add in 7 rebounds (all offensive), 2 assists, a steal, a block, and only one personal foul?? Finally, a game that Zo can tell his kids about one day. Good stuff Dorenzo... keep it up my man.

I'm also still curious about this "start Jeff Allen on the bench" experiment - but it sure seems to be working. A double-double JUST in the second half alone??? Awesome stuff. Looks like the big/little/medium doughnut has gotten the message loud and clear. Again, as someone who readily bashes Jeff when he just wastes games away, I am very encouraged by this effort.

More than anything else, though, I sure hope that Malcolm's thumb is okay. 3-14 from the field for 9 points?? Ouch. This was a game in which many people (myself included) figured that Malcolm would have had an off night if he went for less than 40. Who would have thought that he'd put up his first single-digit effort and only the 2nd over the entire past 2 seasons. Almost could prove to be a blessing in disguise, though, as it seems the rest of the squad was right there ready to answer the bell.

All in all, not a game worth bragging about certainly because VMI isn't anywhere near the team that they were last year, but it's a game that might help to define our season if Hudson and Allen (not to mention Davila) build off of this momentum and Malcolm bounces back quickly from the thumb.

Final thought - still a little surprised that Cadarian Raines only got 3 minutes last night... after having only gotten like 2 minutes in his debut against Georgia. I realize that the VMI game probably wasn't ideal for him from a conditioning standpoint with all the up-and-down play, but hopefully soon he'll start logging at least some 8-10 minute games to get those legs and lungs ready for the brutal ACC slate.

Looking good Hokies... at 7-1 I'd say there's now a good chance to beat the 11-3 start that I predicted if we can just get past Penn State on Saturday. Time to shut down BATTLE!!

This is a good win for the Hokies. Finally a game that will give them confidence as they approach the rest of the non-conference schedule. It appears as if Zo is slowly stepping up and becoming the much needed 2nd man to Delaney.

Hard Times won't know what hit them come Saturday.
