Jeff Allen was named the ACC Player of the Week for the second time in his Hokie career on Monday. Jeff garnered the honor despite playing just one game last week. Obviously, it was a good one. The Big Donut scored 24 points and snagged 11 rebounds, and most remarkably hit 10/12 free throws (he’s a 63% FT shooter) in the Hokies’ 71-59 win over florida state.
Jeff also won the award last season after posting double-doubles against vmi and penn state in early December of 2009. He is the second Hokie to get ACC POTW after Delaney won it for his performances at the 76 Classic.
On a side note, perhaps Jeff should change his number to #5. He ranks fifth all time at Virginia Tech in rebounds, blocks, and steals at this very moment.
