Apparently the Atlantic Coast Conference has taken notice of the “Winchester Rifle” and the work he’s done since entering the starting lineup 10 games ago. Today, the ACC named Erick Green its Player of the Week for games played Jan. 17-23.
Green helped lead the Hokies to two wins last week. He scored a career-high 24 points on 12/16 shooting in Tech’s win at maryland. The sophomore also snagged four steals in the win. Against longwood Green had 14 points, five assists, and two more steals. For the week he was 17/27 (63 percent) from the field with seven assists, six steals, and only two turnovers.
This is Erick’s first time winning the award. He is the third Hokie to do it this season, joining Malcolm Delaney and Jeff Allen.
