Niemo is a member of the VT Class of '98. Attended every home basketball game during his 4 years at VT after missing the first home game. Has attended 122 straight VT football home games (every game since '94), eclipsing the 100 mark in September of '09. During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver. Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo. Niemo currently lives in DC and speaks the Hokie gospel as often as possible. He watches over 50% of all ACC games, making him one of the most knowledgeable experts on ACC basketball.

Wow, that was fun! I can’t get over some of the plays Bell made. I’m hoping a light went on in is head last night and this type of performance can carry over into the post-season. He made plays all over the court. Offensive rebounds in traffic, smart one-touch passes in transition, swatting balls on the break, knocking down open 3s…he was a one man wrecking crew. Career game for Bell. And Davila..”marone!”…playing with some passion. Hoping a light went on for him, too. Jeff was a beast…AGAIN…NBA scouts better take notice. Interesting game for Delaney…pretty much a non-factor for most of the game but he was actually clutch down the stretch in a huge game when we needed it. Smart decisions from the floor general, Green. We form like Voltron and he’s the head.

Awesome post! Hey, question: who are the guys on our team that have or can dunk?

    • Niemo

I would say they can all dunk. Delaney has once or twice but usually goes with a layup. Green has actually had a couple of monster dunks, but rare. Garland, Eddie, and Atkins I haven’t seen dunk in a game, but Garland is the only one who might even be in question.
