Update on Cadarian Raines and Allan Chaney

From one of my sources on Cadarian Raines

“I watched him during recent workouts and he looks great. He has slimmed down and is very explosive. He is playing without pain.”

Allan Chaney:

Will have a heart procedure this coming Tuesday, May 24th (as reported by this Richmond Times Dispatch article and Goodraisin).  This will go a long way towards deciding his future.

During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout for being a "Super Fan" during his time at VT. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver. Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo.

“** Greenberg said he had “nothing on the coaching front,” meaning he didn’t want to share any information about his search for a new assistant coach and director of basketball operations.”

The Rob Ehsan hiring has started hitting the various newspapers that cover the Hokies. He joins the staff on Wednesday when his current contract with Maryland runs out.

Best of luck to both, particularly Chaney.

I guess 3-4 months after a procedure he should be healed up if the internal problem is fixed…

We’ve had 3 6’8 big men with a last name beginning with C since Ace….Collins, Calloway, Chaney…all have had something horrible befall them, poor Allen RIP…i am convinced Collins fathers’ health problems derailed a promising career, he regressed steadily, but what a role model in every other aspect…

Let’s hope Chaney can bring the chain…

  3. Ryan Healy says:

Unfortunately, Cadarian Raines is a non-factor until he proves other wise… as well as Chaney… i wish them the best in health

  4. Goodraisin says:

Thanks for the shout out Niemo. Today’s the day… let’s have some good news, doctors!

  5. Goodraisin says:

According to Allan Chaney’s twitter account, nothing but good news so far! I guess we won’t know for sure until we hear from the doctor and even then VT’s medical staff needs to evaluate him, but at least there is a glimmer of hope for Chaney to play this season.
