Want to know whether the Hokies win or lose? Simple. When you pick up the boxscore, you almost don’t even need to look at the score (unless you want to cheat). All you have to look at is the 3-Point Percentages for both teams. Here are the numbers (FYI: fsu, who came in shooting 30%, shot 31%. But VT, who averaged 37%, hit just 17% against fsu.)
- Tech is now 1-4 this season when shooting for a lower percentage from behind the arc than their opponent.
- The Hokies are 10-1 when shooting a higher percentage.
Let’s take it back to the final 19 games of last year…
- VT Shoots a Lower 3-Pt %: 1-11
- VT Shoots a Higher 3-Pt %: 22-1
Tech’s last 18 ACC games have been decided by who shot a higher % on 3s:
- VT Lower: 0-8
- VT Higher: 10-0
FYI: It doesn’t correlate to 3s Made, though it is pretty close.

Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo.
Niemo currently lives in DC and speaks the Hokie gospel as often as possible. He watches over 50% of all ACC games, making him one of the most knowledgeable experts on ACC basketball.
