Niemo is a member of the VT Class of '98. Attended every home basketball game during his 4 years at VT after missing the first home game. Has attended 122 straight VT football home games (every game since '94), eclipsing the 100 mark in September of '09. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver. Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo. One thing I noticed was that the Eddie’s three at 1:30 was off a screen. I heard that he was practicing taking three’s off a screen. If he makes a high percentage from off ball screens, he will be downright scary.

Good things also happen when Eddie drives, like the dish to Raines early on. He seems hesitant to penetrate, though. As for the screens – you are right, if he can curl off screens and shoot, that’s big time. The problem is we don’t always run the play we called, if you know what I mean. I saw one play where RB ran the baseline through a double screen and EG drifted with the ball to the opposite side. That happens more often than I’d like, and I also don’t like how we drift out on screens, thus limiting our ability to hurt the screener as he rolls to the basket (plus, we are afraid to make difficult passes for fear of getting pulled). Look some time at how far out our guards drift when the help defender comes out on them on a pick and roll compared to other teams.

Note to fans, next yea will be our year, especially if DFS and Rankin and Brown continue to get better at 3′s and Raines and Barksdale work hard as hell this summer, and i hope CJB can get a mid range shot just to spread the court, then you have Rankins ball handling to compliment Green our MVP, and mayb Eddie can get us 12 ppg atleast, but the next 2 years we’ll be deadly, also hope Joey V can work his ass off the offseason. love to get that hight on court wih harrel and woods oming in to beef us up, but DFS needs tobe soley SF cuz he’s a mismatch waiting to happen.
