Updates on Jeff Allen and Terrell Bell

After our brief update about Malcolm Delaney and his French Pro A League team, Elan Chalon, winning the first leg of the LNB season, we got a question asking about Jeff Allen.

Allen also plays in the LNB (Ligue Nationale de Basket), but in the Pro B division, which as I understand it, is a step down from the Pro A division where Malcolm plays. Allen starts for Olympique Antibes, which is 8-13 so far this season. He averages 15.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

As for Terrell Bell, he began the season playing in Finland for KTP Basket Kotka, but it appears he was cut after appearing in just 11 games. During those 11 games, he averaged 9.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. According to his Twitter account, he’s back in the states, but will be heading back to Europe in April.

We reached out to Terrell to see if he’s signed with a new team. You can follow Terrell (@TerrellBell) and Malcolm (@foe23) on Twitter. I couldn’t find Jeff Allen on Twitter, so if you know his, drop it in the comments section below.

Bell was averaging 9.2 points and 6.5 rebounds and was cut? Those don’t sound like bad numbers.

What happened with Dowdell? I heard something about signing with a Euro team and then not passing his physical? Is he playing anywhere?

    • Niemo

Dowdell is in the ‘Burg, so he’s not playing anywhere right now but is working out and trying to get back in the league. He was at the Hokie Celebration on Saturday.

Dowdell, as far as we can tell, is not playing right now. He was waived by the Suns in December because he couldn’t take part in training camp due to pain in his right knee. He signed with Anadolu Efes Istanbul in Turkey, but his contract was voided when the team’s medical staff found something they didn’t like during the physical, thus voiding the contract. Zabe came back to the states and was in attendance at the Cassell for the Hokies’ 66-65 win over Boston College. As soon as we hear something, we’ll let you guys know. Same goes for Terrell Bell and any other Hokies you’d like to know about.

The Wild Hokie Club!

The Hokies experienced their worst season since the ricky "program bomb" stokes era. Sure, it would have been easy to quit on you, but did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL NO!

And we do it for free! But, just like NPR, we rely on the generosity of our loyal fans to help keep this humble Hokie website alive. That being said, see how you can help TechHoops.com make it to 10 years!

Jon King, Ben Floyd and Dan Rickenbach all got in on the action and we encourage all TechHoops heads to do the same.
