The Hokies fall into a tie for last place at 4-12 with their loss to nc state on Senior Night. There’s a 1 minute tribute to the seniors at the beginning.
Niemo is a member of the VT Class of '98.
Attended every home basketball game during his 4 years at VT after missing the first home game. Has attended 122 straight VT football home games (every game since '94), eclipsing the 100 mark in September of '09.
During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver.
Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo.
Niemo currently lives in DC and speaks the Hokie gospel as often as possible. He watches over 50% of all ACC games, making him one of the most knowledgeable experts on ACC basketball.
Hahaha, I love The Other Guys! And that’s exactly how this season has felt… like Dirty Mike and the Boys repeatedly had their way with the basketball team in a Prius F-shack.
That foul that Scott Wood drew was complete garbage. I don’t know about college, but I know the NBA has done away with that call… you aren’t allowed to jump sideways into a player on a jump shot in order to draw a foul, and I wish that change was applied at all levels.
As angry as the season has made me, we should still honor our seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program. Those guys worked really hard to improve their bodies and their play on the court and should be commended for that… nice tribute Niemo!

You and me both, Raisin. I’m ready to get out of the Prius and go take a long, hot shower. Imagine if we did accept a bid to play in the CBI or something and we had to drag this out even more. I want to win the ACC, that would be awesome, but at least now I know that when we lose our next game, it’s over. No more tomorrows on this season. That’s refreshing. You said it best — I can’t avoid watching us. Even if I didn’t have this site, I’d watch any game, anywhere, anytime. But it will be nice to move on and focus on the Sabres playoff push and Braves Spring Training baseball.

No promises, but we may also try to organize an annual Wild Hokie Club gathering where you can meet and mingle with the guys that run the site.
