Erick Green named co-ACC Player of the Week

The Winchester Rifle was named co-ACC Player of the Week after leading the undefeated Virginia Tech Hokies to a wins over iowa and No. 15 oklahoma state. In those two games, Green averaged 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists, including a career-high 28 points against the cowpokes.

In last week’s near Bear Fight 95-79 win over the hawkeyes, senior from Winchester, Va. (hence the Winchester Rifle), was 8/15 from the field and had a game-high 24 points.

In Saturday’s 81-71 victory over the cowboys, Green had career-highs in points (28) and rebounds (7) in only 26 minutes of action. Green picked up two quick fouls in the first 2:16 of the game.

Green leads the ACC in scoring with 24.9 points per game. Earlier today, Sports Illustrated’s Seth Davis named Green his college basketball player of the week.

Oh, duke’s Mason Plumlee was the other player named co-potw.
