Highlights | #5 nc state 80, #12 HOKIES (13-19) 63

The Virginia Tech Hokies’ season ends with an 80-63 loss to nc state in the First Round of the ACC Tournament.  Erick Green, the ACC Player of the Year, scored 15 points, finishing the season with 801 points (first Hokie to eclipse the 800-mark) and 25.03 ppg to lead the nation.  Tech finishes the season at 13-19.

Niemo is a member of the VT Class of '98. Attended every home basketball game during his 4 years at VT after missing the first home game. Has attended 122 straight VT football home games (every game since '94), eclipsing the 100 mark in September of '09. During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver. Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo. Niemo currently lives in DC and speaks the Hokie gospel as often as possible. He watches over 50% of all ACC games, making him one of the most knowledgeable experts on ACC basketball.

    Mercifully the season ended. I’ll try not to think about what this team will look like next year without a 25pt per game scorer.

    Did their coach apologize after the game for that dunk at the end? That was classless by that kid to dunk over a walk-on with 2 seconds left and the shot clock off. I hope Gottfried apologized to JJ for that.

    Gonna miss Erick. Whoever he gets drafted by will instantly become my favorite NBA team.

      I seriously doubt he apologized because their handshake lasted half a second. Gottfried has always been a jerk – just check his record at alabama.
