Warren Craft of Roanoke Decommits from VT

According to this free article, guard Warren Craft (currently a junior at William Fleming in Roanoke) has re-opened his recruitment and it is unlikely he will end up a Hokie when he signs year as a Class of 2015 prospect.

Warren Craft was James Johnson’s first verbal commitment as the Head Coach of the Hokies, committing back in 2012 a few months after James took the job.  At that time VT was his first, and only, offer.  Craft battled an injury this pasts season.

I have no inside info but my guess is this was a mutual decision.  I have to believe a coach like Buzz wants his own guys and wanted to give Craft as much time as possible to find another landing spot if Buzz felt like VT wasn’t best for him.  Or perhaps Warren simply didn’t have the same warm fuzzy with Buzz that he did with JJ.

During the final home basketball game of his senior year, he was brought onto the court and was awarded 2 passes to the Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament in Philly during a timeout for being a "Super Fan" during his time at VT. The Hokie Bird made the award on behalf of Athletic Director Jim Weaver. Niemo was known to be in the front row of every home game with his familiar red afro hairdo.

The Wild Hokie Club!

The Hokies experienced their worst season since the ricky "program bomb" stokes era. Sure, it would have been easy to quit on you, but did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL NO!

And we do it for free! But, just like NPR, we rely on the generosity of our loyal fans to help keep this humble Hokie website alive. That being said, see how you can help make it to 10 years!

Jon King, Ben Floyd and Dan Rickenbach all got in on the action and we encourage all TechHoops heads to do the same.
