Thompson (Fr), or Terrance Vinson (Jr) – Based on our lack of experience, I bet Deron will see a lot of time at PF once we get into the ACC part of our schedule. Hopefully Witcher can rebound from losing his starting gig and minutes last season. And Allen can be a beast. He has an ACC body, though I still doubt he is as tall (6′7″ to 6′8″) as some sources have claimed. But positioning and muscle can be a big equalizer. Thompson is highly rated, too, and will likely get a chance to prove himself. He is similar to Allen in abilities and size, just not as polished. Like with Travis, Vinson = blowout. [...]

Thompson has reportedly finished the one course he needed to attend Virginia Tech for the 2007-08, and “just in time”. Had he not finished this class this Summer, J.T. would likely have had to go to a junior college to make it to a four-year college and that would have taken him an additional two years. [...]
