14 Robert Krabbendam

r-Sophomore | Center | 7’0″ | 240 lbs. | Hoorn, Netherlands

Several things happen every Fall: the leaves turn orange and maroon, the weather turns crisp, and Krabbendam starts the season as Virginia Tech’s starting center. But unfortunately for Krabbie, this role does not last long. He lasted just six starts in his freshman year in 2004-05 and just five this year. He missed last season with a knee injury.

Robert has simply not shown that he is athletic enough to play in the ACC. He has good vision and a decent stroke on jumpers, but has just six assists and is shooting just 33% in 45 games. Krabbie is also not much of a shot blocker despite being 7 foot. He is not quick enough to stop post moves of athletic players in the paint. He has put on some weight, at least.
