- Starmount lost in the 2008 NC 2A State Quarterfinals to to Pisgah by a 69-60 score. Starmount won their Sectional and a Regional Qualifier.

6-8 and that will be his challenge as a five due to his lack of height
there. But he has a nice pedigree of national experience and can turn
out to be a very fine low post scorer at the college level in time,
which is a need for Virginia Tech…”
