Comments:

  • Nicknamed “MoMo”
  • Jones is only a verbal at this point.  He verballed on the last day of the early signing period, but did not sign so his mother could be a part of it.
  • Can be a big time scorer.  He had 40 points in the championship game of the Iolani Classic (Honolulu, HI) in December of 2008 and was named tournament MVP.
  • He has been a 2-guard in the past who is learning how to run the point at Oak Hill.  Tech will look for him to expand his ballhandling skills to help run the offense and free up Delaney to play more at the shooting guard spot.
  • Lamont originally committed to louisville.  He reportedly had offers from cincinnati and seton hall.  May have had offers from georgetown and memphis also.
  • Oak Hill started the season 14-0 and #5 in the USA Today rankings.
  • One of 40 New Yorkers nominated for the 32nd Annual McDonald’s All-American game.
