The Wooden Award, named for the legendary ucla coach, goes to the NCAA’s most outstanding player each year, and is generally regarded as college basketball’s most prestigious individual award.
Our own Erick Green was named a ‘finalist’ on Thursday, part of the 25 players on the list. He’s the first player since Malcolm Delaney from VT to be on the list.
Just two other players from the ACC, both from duke (Curry and Plumlee), were on the list.
The award will be given at the end of the season.
